Making Lives Better Campaign - June, 2002
After careful reesearch and planning, the Board of Trustees of the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan has unanimously approved a critical advancement plan that will ensure the tradition of excellence in programs to better serve the patients and families battling kidney disease. This plan called for the construction of a larger facility that now houses current and future staff needs to enhance and expand NKFM programs and services. Additionally, the plan seeks to provide immediate and expanded program support, as well as providing a solid base from which it can foster program initiatives.
The Making Lives Better campaign will also sustain growth by encouraging philanthropy. In order to ensure program growth in the future, a program endowment will be established. Currently, 42 percent of our annual revenue comes from philanthropy (grants, contributions from individuals and corporations and bequests). Our goal of philanthropy is to create an initial endowment of $1 milliion that will grow through philanthropy over the next five years, generating $250,000 - $500,000 in annual program income while increasing annual philanthropy. The component for the Making Lives Better campaign is an integral part of our future. The program center will flourish and we will better serve the needs of the residents of Michigan through direct patient services, prevention education, research and organ donation education.

Your Donation of $100 will give you a 8"x4" brick with your inscription. A donation of $500 will give you a 8"x8" brick with your inscription. All bricks will be placed outside the NKFM board room, in the "Donor Recognition Garden & Plaza Walk."
