NKFM Awards 16 Kidney Patients with College Scholarships

This summer, the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) selected 16 individuals on dialysis or with a kidney transplant across the state of Michigan to receive academic scholarships through the Swartz/Ferriter College Scholarship Program. The awards ranged from $250 to $650 and aim to empower kidney patients to continue their education.

Scholarships are based on academic merit, past performance, and potential to succeed in the chosen field of study. The 2014 Swartz/Ferriter scholarship recipients come from colleges throughout the state including Baker College, Central Michigan University, Davenport University – Flint Campus, Grand Valley State University, Macomb Community College, Mott Community College, Washtenaw Community College, Walsh College, Wayne County Community College, Wayne State University, and Western Michigan University.
