For the sixth consecutive year, the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM) has been recognized for its success in sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency by receiving a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.
Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that the NKFM adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way. Charity Navigator is the leading charity evaluator in America and only gives 4-star ratings to a quarter of the charities it evaluates. Only 3 percent of these charities have received the prestigious 4-star rating for six consecutive years or more.
The coveted ranking shows that the NKFM outperforms the majority of other nonprofit agencies in America in fiscal responsibility. This exceptional designation differentiates the NKFM from its peers and demonstrates the reliability and efficiency of the organization’s services.
“The NKFM is extremely honored to receive a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the sixth consecutive year,” said NKFM President and CEO Daniel Carney. “We’ll strive to continue, and even improve upon, the sound business practices that have continually earned our organization this recognition.”
The NKFM is based in Ann Arbor, with offices in Grand Rapids, Flint, and Detroit. For more information on the NKFM’s programs and services, or for information about kidney disease and its leading causes, visit www.nkfm.org or call 800-482-1455.
