Boys with soccer ballIt's vitally important that we teach children as early as possible to adopt healthy behaviors such as eating well and getting physical activity so that they can grow up to be healthy adults. The Centers for Disease Control estimates that one in three children born in the year 2000 will develop diabetes. That's a frightening statistic but one that the NKFM is tackling head on.
We're dedicated to educating children from preschool through high school to make healthy food choices and participate in regular physical activity. We know that the healthier a child is, the better they do in school and in life. Therefore, the NKFM has developed a number of "Kids Programs" to keep Michigan kids healthy.
